Moroccan Dance Live @The 50th Annual Bayou City Arts Festival -Memorial Park

Join me at the big stage for a performance of traditional and contemporary Moroccan Shikaat (Romagni) and Chaabi (street style) dance at the Bayou City Arts festival at Memorial Park. Ancestors of ancient fertility dances, these high energy dances combine powerful, subtle hip technique with gestures and expressions to create a unique, beautiful form unlike any other. Dances include “cafe” dances such as tambourine and tea tray dances as well as more traditional ritual and street dance formats. Come wearing your dancing shoes and bring your hip scarf—there will be a dance or two that is participatory and definitely interactive with stories, rituals, and more! Looking forward to seeing you there! For entrance fees, parking, and more information about the festival please visit https://www.artcolonyassociation.org/ and https://www.artcolonyassociation.org/copy-of-what-to-expect.

PS: Stay tuned for more Moroccan Dance after the festival and be sure to check out my master class on March 31st or ongoing classes in April !
