Come meet the author and hear selections of the soon to be virtually launched “ Inara & The Tree of Souls: An Anthology.” Based on traditional myths of Mesopotamia as traslated by Meador, Wolstein and Kramer, and more, these poems, prose, and tales re-envision such celebrated myths as “The Hupullu Tree,” “Inanna’s Descent” and “An Zu,” by offering alternative, perspectives to the roles of women and nature in myth ( e.g.,, non-violent, inclusive, sustainable). These perspectives are meant to augment historical ones and invoke discussion.
Works are expected to be virutally launched on a multitude of platforms such as YouTube, iTunes soon! Come back for update postings! This project was funded in part by a grant from the Houston Arts Alliance and the City of Houston and sponsored by Writespace, Brasil, and Facebook.
