Dance and celebrate the new you of Spring! Join me for an exciting new series of virtual classes on Egyptian movement ! As a beginner, discover the rhythms of Egyptian music and dance through sagat or finger cymbal technique. As an advanced student, learn some of the most challenging movements of Egyptian dancers and how to integrate them in your dance! Discover your inner beauty and joy! Meet cool people! Wear beautiful clothes! This month get ready for more creative expression along with sizzling hip work and combinations, upper body and lower body shimmies, rhythm, and whatever the sunshine brings!
Classes include movements and mini combinations plus warm ups and cool downs to develop and strengthen the body in preparation for class. Students also receive much individual attention in class. Cultural context of the dances, their origins and costuming are illuminated with discussion and links to film footage and/or photos.. Please feel free to email me with questions.
Students of all ages and levels of ability are encouraged to take class.
