Looking for a way to free yourself from stress and anxiety while meeting cool people and having fun? Curious to explore dance as form of self expression or experience without going to a ‘class’? Interested in learning different types of dance? Intrigued by the idea of a moving meditation? Curious about dance as a form of meditation? Interested in exploring what movement works for you? T ake this journey with me….
Drawn from the dance, rituals, and movement traditions around the world, classes engage movements, attention, breath, energy, rhythm, repetition, and music to attune one’s inner and outer being to the flow, the heart, and expressions of beauty which can bring renewal and recovery of energetic fields as well as focus, clarity, ease of movement, flow, rhythm, posture, relief from stress, and anxiety and fear. ((like yoga and martial arts which bring together many elements of inner and outer practice) With open energetic fields, external restrictions can open. Sessions will share different offerings through authentic movement anand different focus-grounding, space, energy, focus, shape…come join me with a new journey of exploration! Dance stretches and warm ups, celtic dance, martial arts movements, yoga, central Asian, middle eastern, north African dance, Persian folk and Persian classical dance, all kinds of movement possible- each share different ways of ‘speaking’ or feeling or moving energy.
One to two hour sessions multiple times a week. For cultural reasons, classes are for women only.
Series includes: Tuning Into Your Flow (Persian/central Asian), Tuning Into Your Joy (Desert Dance), Tuning Into Your Roots, Opening Your Wings all different Sections…
Since this is first run these sessions are open to the public without charge. Donations appreciated -please click here
These are all original and of my own movement journeys. I hope to be able to raise funds to keep these available free of charge to the community – if you know of funding please contact me @ divinedances@gmail.com . Please see my mission statement with these offerings…
If you are interested in a men’s session, please email me at divinedances@gmail.com and I will hopefully be able to open a class soon!
If you would like to host an evening or day offering, please contact me @ divinedances@gmail.com and we can meet via phone or zoom to discuss. I would love to offer in person as well.
No recordings will be available and participants will not be recorded though parts may be recorded. Please see below for session guidelines.
Session Guidelines:
While I would love to offer in person classes, for now all we have is zoom.
Here are some zoom guidelines to get the most of our time together.
Have enough space not to injure yourself with anything potentially hazardous close by (including wires, sharp things, etc).
Monitor you own health – check in and make sure you have consent before class ie–you have the physical mental emotional permission to engage and move in these new ways. If you have a condition and would still like to participate, that is fine, just please be mindful and sure it is within good sense.
Take breaks when you need them – have water near by for hydration.
Mostly with these classes I give group cues and encouragement. If by any chance I see something that may cause injury, I may also give personal feedback. I do this to amplify the experience and keep you safe.
Feel free to ask questions – you will have to unmute to do so or raise your hand and I will get to you as soon as possible
Please keep the video on – unless and until something or someone requires you turn it off. In other words, if you must respond to something during class– please feel free to close the video for the duration of the interruption and return when you can – it helps maintain focus for everyone in this way.
Rooms will be open 10-15 minutes prior to class – I encourage everyone to be on time – if one joins after the start of class, thank you for your patience as you will be admitted as soon as is possible.
